The chip reader “Halo” is a practical hand scanner for reading out the identification chips of animals. This scanner has an excellent read range and a very long battery life (2 months standby). The microchip scanner “Halo” is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, rechargeable via USB and can be connected to a PC. With a fully charged battery, the scanner remains standby for two months and may read in this period between 650 to 700 scans. The scanner has a robust design.
The chip scanner “Halo” reads all 10- and 15-digit chip numbers. The 15-digit chips (FDX-B type) are typically used in the EU for the chipping of animals. The 10-digit chips (type FDX-A) can be used, among other countries, in the US. The scanner is compact and fits comfortably in hand. The chip reader “Halo” is also resilient. The scanner can be used for the scanning of chips in horses, dogs, cats, sheep, and other animals.
Recognition of missing animals:
The Halo chip scanner can indicate when a scanned chip is reported missing. This involves using the Scanner Angel database. This database allows organizations to add missing animals and to register the chip numbers of missing animals. When the Halo chip reader is conntected via the USB port on the computer over the internet, the most recent data from the scanner Angel database is loaded into the halo scanner. When the scanner scans a missing chip, this is directly indicated on the screen, along with the telephone number of the organization where the animal was reported missing. There can be acted immediately and the animal can be quickly reunited with its owner.
